Rowan charged with making threats to judges
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

A Spring Valley woman who was found guilty of battery to a police officer in March is now looking at two additional felony charges.

Tally A. Rowan, 33, who is currently awaiting sentencing for battery and other misdemeanors in September, was charged earlier this month with two counts of battery or threat to a judge. The charge is a Class E felony and carries a maximum $10,000 fine and/or six years prison.

According to the criminal complaint, Rowan, who has been in jail since March, was alleged to have made verbal threats she was going to kill Circuit Court Judges James Duvall and Robert Wing, the two judges who presided over her battery case.

The case began when an inmate who was released in late April told the Piece County Sheriff's Department she heard Rowan make verbal death threats toward Duvall and Wing, and she perceived the threats to be credible. She also said Rowan "had the means and ability to have someone carry out these threats."
