Ruth M. Blake, 88, Prescott, Wis., Sunday, Oct. 20, with her children at her side, ended her long battle with Alzheimers Disease.
Born, Jan. 22, 1925, to Zephyr and Marie LeBeau in Marshall, Minn., Ruth married Edward Blake June 15, 1944. After several years of farming in the Marshall and Mankato area, Ruth and Ed settled in Prescott, in 1954. Together they raised 9 children. In addition to running a busy home, she also enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, arts, crafts, sewing and singing praise in the choir at St. Josephs Catholic Church.
Ruth is survived by all nine children: DiAnn Kerr (Jimmie), Patrick Blake, Beverly Fedorchak, Tim Blake (Sue Freeman), Shannon Schiller (Ken), Michelle Stohr (Greg), Lisa Calderon, Stacey Milverstedt (Steve), and Shawn Doose (Tim); 20 grandchildren: Aimee Rowe, Beth Grimes, Ian Blake, Kristin McKeag, Aaron Stevenson, Vince Fedorchak, Heather LaVenture, Jason Blake, Aric Hansen, Becca Fischer, Brent Hansen, Katie Thoen, Brad Most, Whitney Calderon, Chelsey Calderon, Dylan Blake, Sam and Keith Milverstedt, Jessica Anderson, David Jones, and 19 great-grandchildren; five siblings: Jim, Beverly, Walt, Patsy, and Larry; many nieces; and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Guardians Ed and Louise Gregoire; grandson Nicholas; 10 siblings: Earl, Don, Eunice, Dick, Jean, Joan, Doris, Bob and Mary Lou.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Prescott. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. preceding the funeral Mass at the church.
