Ryden's name added to officers memorial in D.C.
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

Lori Ryden had never been to Washington D.C. before this May.

She wishes it'd been under different circumstances.

Ryden along with various family members made the trip to the nation's capital to see Jackie Ryden, her late husband, join the list of the over 17,000 names to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

Jackie, who was in law enforcement for 33 years, passed away unexpectedly September 2,2006 at the age of 57, due to a heart attack. Ryden was on duty with the Prescott Police Department when the heart attack occurred.

"The whole trip was so overwhelming," Lori said. "Pictures don't tell the whole story. We were honored."

Lori was accompanied on the trip by daughter and son-in-law Cherie and Brian Stein, along with the couple's two children, Karlie and Bryce, daughter-in-law Melissa and granddaughter Brooklyn (Scott, the couple's other child, couldn't make it), sister-in-law Marlene Johnson and husband Richard, niece Shannon and husband Nathan Schommer, niece Tracy Novak and Jackie's half-brother Richard Constantine.
