Sauter wins ASA Midwest Tour race at Milwaukee Mile
MILWAUKEE - Travis Sauter of Necedah won the ASA Midwest Tour stock car race at the Milwaukee Mile last night.
The 30-year-old Sauter took the lead after 57 laps and survived a couple of re-starts to win the Howie Lettow Memorial 150. Chase Elliott was second. Travis Sauter's uncle Johnny - who won the NASCAR Truck race last weekend - finished third. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' leader Matt Kenseth of Cambridge took sixth. Wausau NASCAR driver Chris Wimmer was 15th. Tim Sauter of Necedah was 25th.
And retired NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace was 31st in his first race in six years. His car was damaged in a crash that involved several cars on the 66th lap - and Wallace dropped out just before Lap-100.
