Schedule announced for EHS Homecoming 2013
Ellsworth High School's 2013 Homecoming is on Sept. 20 and activities for Homecoming Week have been announced.
One big change for this year is in the parade route. The parade will take place on Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. but instead of going down Main St., the parade will depart the high school, going past Hillcrest Elementary and will proceed south on Piety Street ending at the Middle School. Classes and organizations are already working hard on their floats. If you wish to enter a float in the parade please contact Alyssa Matzek at the high school at 715-273-3904.
Homecoming week begins Sunday Sept. 15th with the coronation of the Homecoming Royalty at 5:30 pm on the Fuller-Symes Field. The coronation will be followed by Powder Puff football games featuring the Sophomores vs. Freshman and Seniors vs. Juniors under the lights for bragging rights.
Homecoming buttons are being sold right now for $2 in the high school office. By purchasing a button you are automatically entered into a drawing for cash and prizes during half-time of the homecoming game. Also, any student that has a button will be able to get into the football game for FREE on Friday night with a paid adult.
The Homecoming volleyball match is on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Panthers will host Somerset in their Middle Border Conference opener.
Pierce County's loudest Homecoming Pepfest will take place at 2:00 pm Friday in the new high school gymnasium. Parents are welcome to attend along with students and Ellsworth staff. Friday will be Purple and White Spirit Day in the school district.
The week will culminate with the Ellsworth Panther football team taking on the defending state champion and No. 2 ranked Somerset under the Friday night lights at 7 p.m. at Fuller-Symes Field. Beforehand is the traditional Ellsworth Homecoming Chili Feed which will begin at 5 p.m. and run right until kick-off in the EHS Cafetorium.
