Schilling moves from County Board to business owner
SPRING VALLEY - Kirstin Schilling has always been a fan of Red Sky, the coffee, ice cream and movie/video game rental business located next to the Spring Valley Elementary School.
"I started going here within the last three to four years and thought it was the cutest little place and that it had great potential," she said.
Schilling approached then-owner Donna Olson to let her know if she was ever interested in selling to let her know.
Olson came to her this spring and said she was. And starting Jan. 1, 'the cutest little place' as Schilling referred to it will become hers.
"This keeps me active in the community," she said. "We can use this as a tool to promote Spring Valley.
"It's scary owning your own business and I've gotten a little overwhelmed some days. But, there's a great group of people here that have been patient with me and Donna has been awesome, which has made it a lot easier for me."
