Scout arranges for sign touting Ellsworth school sports

When Shane Smith entered Ellsworth at the village limits, he realized something other communities had on their outskirts was missing here.

A sign proclaiming local sports championships was the fixture Smith found to be lacking. So the Eagle Scout candidate decided to take on its creation and installation as his project toward that Scout rank. Late last month, the sign he labored for went on display along Hwy. 10, just southeast of its intersection with Hwys. 63 and 72, on the grounds of Plummer Concrete, to whom he's grateful for providing the location.
