Second interviews for Drew and Sampson today
The two finalists for the Milwaukee Bucks' coaching job are expected to have second interviews today. Atlanta Hawks' coach Larry Drew is still in the running, after the Hawks named San Antonio assistant Mike Budenholzer yesterday as Drew's replacement. The other Milwaukee finalist is Houston assistant Kelvin Sampson, who was an assistant with the Bucks for three seasons under Scott Skiles. The 57-year-old Sampson was Kevin McHale's top assistant with the Rockets for the past two years. Drew, who's 55, stayed under contract with Atlanta while interviewing for other jobs. The hiring of Budenholzer officially ended Drew's three-year run with the Hawks. He went 128-and-102, with three straight playoff appearances. The Bucks say they don't have a timetable for replacing Jim Boylan, who was fired almost a month ago.
