'Second Saturday' barn dance in River Falls to feature Lulu Gals
The Twin Cities all-women acoustic band, Lulu Gals, will play for River Falls' Second Saturday barn dance series in the gym of the River Falls Academy (formerly Meyer Middle School) on West Maple Street from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9.
No experience is necessary for full participation and family-oriented fun.
Easy steps will be demonstrated before each dance by an experienced dance caller.
All ages are invited to participate. Both singles and couples are welcome.
Family dances suitable for children are emphasized during the first half, with more advanced dances in the second half.
Featuring the best of regional string and old-time bands, the Second Saturday barn dance series continues into 2010 with the following:
Rush River Ramblers, Feb. 13; Barn Cats, March 20; and Poor Benny, April 10.
The barn dances are a joint project of River Falls Community Arts Base, River Falls Parks and Recreation, and Whole Earth Grocery.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2.50 for 12 and under.
Inexpensive refreshments are available.
