Snowmobile Air Show Saturday at Steel Horse

Guests of all ages are invited to a snowmobile air show this Saturday at the Steel Horse Saloon, located about five miles west of Ellsworth.

The action starts at 11 a.m. The event is presented by Black Widow Performance Gear and will feature Ellsworth native Ben Deaton, who has been a professional snowmobile racer for the last seven years.

"This is a first of a kind gig like this for my team," Deaton said, who added Black Widow, a clothing company, is his primary sponsor.

Deaton estimated there will be four to five shows during the day, with one scheduled under the lights. Fellow professional rider Ryan White will also be on hand to perform.

Deaton describes the show as "a standard freestyle show," but promises a few bag of tricks. Because this will be an initial show for him, he's curious on the reception he'll get from the public.

"This is for fun, but if it's successful, I would like to get out of the racing and into more of the freestyle," he said. "There is so much work to keep the racing team going (he guessed he spends 60-70 hours a week) and it would be nice to do something that would be more fun with fewer obligations."

Cost is $10, which is for the entire day. Ages 12 and under are free. Autographs will be available along with concessions. For more information, contact Deaton Racing at (715) 491-0116.
