Spring Valley announces finalists for new superintendent
The Spring Valley School District announced Monday night three finalists for the superintendent's position.
The finalists are: Mark Burandt, current director of Human Resources for the Menomonie Area School District; Donald Haack, Superintendent of the Spooner Area School District; and Glenn Webb, current Principal of St. Croix Central High School. The final round of interviews will take place on February 19.
Residents of the school district and Spring Valley sutdents and their parents are invited to participate in the process for selecting the new superintendent. On 7 p.m., February 19, interested community members will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of each of the candidates. The public forum will be held in the commons area at the Middle/High School. A new finalist will be introduced at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. Each candidate will meet with those in attendance and take questions for approximately 45 minutes. Dennis Richards of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards will moderate the forum. Community members will be given the opportunity to complete feedback forums that will be presented to the school board for use in the final selection process. Community members are encouraged to participate in the sessions for all three of the finalists; however, they are permitted to attend for whatever amount of time their schedules allow.
The board of education encourages participation in this important meeting that will allow all community members the opportunity to meet the candidates prior to the board's final selection.
The finalist will replace Superintendent David Wellington, who announced his retirement earlier in the school year.
