Spring Valley boys basketball team wins fourth straight game

SPRING VALLEY - The Spring Valley High School boys' basketball team won its fourth straight ballgame Monday evening 78-45 over Clear Lake in a non-conference contest.

SV's Zac Webster led all scorers with 26 points. The Warriors' Ben Miner finished with a team-high 24 points but didn't have the team support Webster had as the Cardinals' Ben Becker, Joe and Jake Helmer scored 10 points each while  Sean Borgerding finished with nine points. Nine players scored at least two or more points for Valley compared to only five scorers for Clear Lake.

Valley was in control of the ballgame from the outset as they led 50-25 at halftime, scoring 27 first quarter points. SV buried CL, 4-16 overall, with eight three-pointers. Webster made three treys while Becker sank two.

The Cardinals improve to 15-5 overall and close out the their Dunn-St. Croix Conference schedule for this season tonight at home vs. St. Croix Central.
