SPRING VALLEY - The Spring Valley High School girls cross country team won their own Spring Valley Invitational meet Thursday held at Spring Valley High/Middle School.

Valley had the low score of 23 followed by St. Croix Central with 40 and Elmwood-Plum City with 66.

The Cardinals took the top three places with Emma Gaustad winning in 17:03 on the 4000-meter course while Sophie Koch came in second at 18:11 and Claire Arneson was third in 18:22.

EPC's top runner in the girls' race was Josie Tiffany as she finished in eighth in 18:52.

St. Croix Central won the boys race with 26 points to EPC's 46 and Spring Valley's 65. SCC's Jordan Bringghold won race individually. EPC's Andrew Gilles finished second and teammate Noah Wells finished third. Spring Valley's Aiden Manley took fifth.

Spring Valley will be in Colfax for a meet Monday while EPC's next meet is in Amery Tuesday.
