Spring Valley woman hurt in Christmas Eve crash
A 91-year-old Spring Valley woman was transported to an area hospital Tuesday evening after the car in which she was a passenger slid on slippery roads and struck a guard rail.
Mildred E. Mackert of Spring Valley was taken to the hospital by Spring Valley Area Ambulance with undetermined injuries.
She was a passenger in a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero driven by Lucy J. Shapley, 65, of Spring Valley.
Pierce County Sheriff's Department deputy Tara Wentlandt stated in a news release that Shapley was eastbound on Oak Street at about 7:30 p.m. when she was unable to stop her vehicle due to slippery road conditions at it slid into a guardrail on Glade Avenue.
Kent's Towing from Plum City assisted deputies at the scene.
