Jordan Niebrugge of Mequon will wrap up his title match today at the Western Amateur Championship in Roland Arkansas. He was all-square with North Carolina graduate Sean Dale after two long weather delays suspended the title match after eight holes last evening. Earlier in the day, Niebrugge defeated Arkansas college player Sebastian Cappelen of Denmark one-up in the semi-finals. Niebrugge turned 20 yesterday, and will be a sophomore at Oklahoma State. He’s trying to become only the third Wisconsin golfer to win the Western Amateur. The others are Andy North of Madison in 1971, and Wilford Wehrle of Racine in 1937. Niebrugge won the Wisconsin State Amateur tournament last week, and the U-S Amateur Public Links title the week before.
