Steven L. Armstrong, 62
Steven L. Armstrong, age 62 of Prescott, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at his home. Steve was born on October 10, 1946, in Duluth, MN, and was raised in Superior, WI, by his parents Byron and Cecelia (Larson) Armstrong.
He was a graduate of Superior Central High School and Eau Claire Technical Institute, receiving an associate degree in computer science. Steve married Julie Cockson in October of 1967 and later married Judy Lamble on June 27, 1987, in Coon Rapids, MN.
Steve was a longtime employee of Northwest Airlines, where he was employed as a Senior Business Analyst. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved playing golf, and traveling throughout the world. Steve was recently inducted into the Superior Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1959 Wisconsin State Little League Championship baseball team. Most importantly, he was devoted to his friends and family, and especially his four grandsons.
Steve is survived by his adoring wife, Judy; daughter, Cathy (John) Williams; mother, Cecelia Elmore; Judy's daughters: Molly (Tom) Morgan; Liz (Jeff) Klotz; grandsons: Alec, Tanner, Aaron and Linden; brothers: Conrad (Deanna); Michael (Joan); Richard (Laurie); Randy (Darlene)
Steve was preceded in death by his infant son; father Byron; sister Sondra; step-father Ward Elmore; and Judy's sons Danny and Andy.
A celebration of Steve's life took place at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Joy Lutheran Church, Prescott, WI. Burial of his cremated remains will be in the Pine Glen Cemetery, Prescott, WI, at a later time. Friends and family were invited to gather for an hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Following the service, all were invited to gather at Steve and Judy's home, in the great outdoors, for lunch and to continue the celebration of his life.
