MENOMONIE - In a Gridiron Classic game that was a classic, Plum City High School's football team made it 44 regular season wins in a row Friday evening as they edged Pierce County rival Spring Valley 20-14 in overtime at UW-Stout's William's Stadium.

Quarterback Alex Gilles tossed a shovel pass to wide receiver Tyler Churchill in the back of the end zone for the winning score as the Blue Devils had the ball on the two-yard line in the extra session.
