Students benefit from $1,000 RFAH scholarships
Eight students have been awarded $1,000 scholarships from the River Falls Area Hospital Foundation.
The non-traditional student recipients were invited to a brief ceremony at the hospital, where they were presented with their scholarships by Heather Logelin, director of foundation and community engagement, and four members of the foundation board of directors.
The scholarship recipients from this area include:
--Rebecca Bull of Ellsworth, employed at River Falls Medical Clinic and Vino in the Valley, training to be a registered nurse at Chippewa Valley Technical College.
--Jocelyn Gorham of Beldenville, employed at Shakti Dance Studio and Comforts of Home, training to be a registered nurse at Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Twice a year, the foundation’s board of directors considers applications from non-traditional students, with the goal of increasing the number of health care providers in the region served by River Falls Area Hospital (River Falls, Hudson, Ellsworth, Spring Valley and Prescott).
The deadline for the next round of scholarships for spring semester 2015 is Wednesday, Oct. 15. For an application form, visit www.allinahealth.org/RiverFalls, click on “foundation” and download the form under “Related Links.”
