SV teen charged with child pornography
The Spring Valley teenager who was arrested on possession of drug paraphernalia and child pornography last month has now been charged with those crimes.
Lucas W. Danielson, 18, W1173 Maryann St., was charged Wednesday with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a Sept. 18 incident.
Members of the FBI, seven agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), and four Spring Valley police officers, along with a representative from the Pierce County Human Services Department, raided Danielson's home, where he was found with his two younger siblings.
Officers discovered more than 100 images and movies of child pornography from a computer and DVD at the home. Also found was methamphetamine paraphernalia.
Danielson was discovered through undercover work by the FBI, according to Spring Valley Police Chief Dan Burgess.
The pornography possession, a Class D felony, carries at least a $100,000 fine and/or 25 years prison time. The drug possession, a misdemeanor, has a $500 fine or 30 days prison, or both.
Pierce County District Attorney John O' Boyle said the reason for the delay between the arrest and the charges was his office was waiting for reports from the DCI.
Danielson's prior court record shows this isn't his first encounter with law enforcement. Last year in Dunn County, he pled guilty to operating left of center line and was placed on two years probation for hit-and-run, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Meanwhile, in Pierce County, he pled guilty to operating while intoxicated, underage drinking and was currently on deferred prosecution/sentencing for two counts of taking and driving vehicle without consent and criminal damage to property.
Danielson's next appearance in Pierce County Circuit Court is 8:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, for a preliminary hearing.
