Swan Walk Jan. 12 kicks off Hot Air countdown
Hudson swan enthusiast Barry Wallace will lead a Swan Walk and program as a Hot Air Affair countdown event on Saturday, Jan. 12. The free program starts at 10 a.m. at the Hudson Area Library, then moves down the path through Lakefront Park to watch Wallace feed the hundreds of trumpeter swans that spend the winter in Hudson.
The group will reconvene at the library to view a movie about swans and draw for door prizes. The program is sponsored by Dough Boys Pizza and the Friends of the Library and pre-registration is suggested as seating is limited.
Wallace has been feeding the flock in Hudson for more than 20 years and Hot Air Affair is coordinating a fundraiser to help defray feeding costs this winter.
Professional and amateur photographers from the region are donating prints of what flies over Hudson--hot air balloons, fireworks, eagles, swans and other feathered visitors. The prints will be framed and offered for sale at various Hudson locations throughout Hot Air Affair weekend.
Complete details on the Walking Art Show and Sale will be available soon at Hot Air Affair and on Facebook.
