T-Wolves looking to work free agent market
MINNEAPOLIS - There are reports that Memphis forward Rudy Gay is one of the players targeted by the Timberwolves when free agency begins.
T-Wolves basketball operations president David Kahn says he'll call at least two agents at 11 p.m. tomorrow, which is the earliest teams can contact free agents.
Gay has played the last four seasons for the Grizzlies, who picked him eighth overall in the 2006 NBA Draft. Gay is a restricted free agent, which means the Grizzlies can match any offer. The Wolves yesterday introduced forward Martell Webster, who was obtained from Portland in a draft-day trade that send Luke Babbitt and Ryan Gomes to the TrailBlazers. Webster is just 23 years old but he's already played five seasons in the NBA. He was drafted fifth overall in 2005 by Portland out of high school.
