Three persons rescued from Red Wing area lake
RED WING -- A boat capsized on North Lake near Red Wing when a wave washed over the front of the flat bottom boat, leaving three people in the water for as long as three hours Wednesday. '
The Goodhue County Sheriff's deparment says the boat's owner, 59-year-old Dave Schoening of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, swam about 300 yards to shore to call for help while 63-year-old Arthur Arakawa of Burnsville and 55-year-old Nancy Gunther of Young America clung to the boat.
A fisherman took Prairie Island Indian Reservation officers to the capsized boat, and Arakawa and Gunther were pulled to shore. They were all in good health following the rescue.
