Timberwolves win final game of 2012-13 season
SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - Minnesota forward Derrick Williams posted 21 points and six rebounds to help the Timberwolves top the Spurs 108-95 in the regular season finale for both teams.
Chase Budinger added 15 points off the bench for Minnesota, which ends the year at 31-51. Ricky Rubio was held to 12 points but was 3-for-5 from long range. The win was the T'Wolves first win in San Antonio since 2004.
Tim Duncan tallied 17 points and 14 rebounds for San Antonio, which ends the season at 58-24. Gary Neal totalled 17 points off the bench for the Spurs, who will play the Lakers in the first round of the postseason.
The NBA postseason is set after the regular season ended on Wednesday. The playoffs start on Saturday with the Knicks hosting the Celtics in a best-of-seven series. The Lakers defeated the Rockets to earn the seven-seed and will face the Spurs on Sunday afternoon.
