TOWN OF ROCK ELM
Nonmetallic Mine Operator\'s Licenses
The purpose of Ordinance is to provide minimum standards for all nonmetallic mining operations in the Town, and to require licenses for nonmetallic mining operators in order to protect public health and safety, to preserve the scenic beauty of the Town\'s landscapes and environment, to protect the public from damage to both the quantity and quality of ground and surface waters, to minimize or prevent adverse impacts from on-site and off-site operations, and to promote the general welfare of the people and communities within the Town of Rock Elm
The Ordinance is adopted by the powers granted to the Town of Rock Elm by the Town\'s adoption of Village powers under Wis. Stat. 60.10, 61.34, its authority under 66.0415, and other authority under the statutes.
This ordinance was adopted by a majority vote of the town board on roll call vote with a quorum present.
Any person or entity adjudicated guilty of a violation of this Ordinance shall pay a forfeiture of not less than $1000.00 per violation nor more than $5000.00 per violation, and /or be subject to injunctive relief. Each day violation exists is a separate violation.
