Trial date set in Knopf case
A trial date has been set in the case of Anne Knopf, 39, the former Prescott substitute teacher charged with second degree sexual assault of a child.
A 12-person jury will hear the case April 23-24 starting at 8:30 a.m. the first day and 9 a.m. the second. Robert Wing, Pierce County Circuit Court Judge, will preside over the case.
Other information from Tuesday's pre-conference hearing include a motion hearing date set for 3:30 p.m. Feb. 21. Pierce County District Attorney John O'Boyle stated the hearing could be optional because it all depends on the number of motions Frederic Bruno, Knopf's attorney, intend to file. As part of the hearing, O'Boyle handed over the state's evidence against Knopf to Bruno and as O'Boyle explained, it's now Bruno's call on which pieces of evidence he does or doesn't want seen in trial.
