TV helicopter tries to dry field for WIAA soccer tournament
Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels will play Brookfield East in tonight's (Friday) Division 1 semi-finals at the state girls' high school soccer tournament.
Waunakee will take on Bay Port after all four schools advanced from Thursday's soggy quarter-finals in Milwaukee.
Divine Savior shut out Appleton North 2-0 while Brookfield East blanked Eau Claire Memorial 3-0.
Waunakee eliminated Waukesha West 3-1 and Bay Port shut out Kenosha Bradford 1-nothing.
The games were moved away from the championship field due to standing water at Uihlein Soccer Park.
A TV station's helicopter tried to dry the field and they'll give it another go today (Friday).
Semi-finals will be played this afternoon in Divisions 2 and 3.
In Division 2, defending champion Waukesha Catholic Memorial plays McFarland and Grafton goes against Appleton Xavier.
In the Division 3 semis, the unbeaten University School of Milwaukee plays Palmyra-Eagle and defending champ Menasha St. Mary Central takes on New Holstein.
Title games are set for Saturday in all three divisions.
