Twins fall out of first after loss

MINNEAPOLIS - The Twins fell out of the AL Central lead for the first time since the first week of the season after dropping a 7-5 decision to Detroit last night at Target Field.

The Tigers scored four runs before Twins starter Francisco Liriano could get anybody out, and held on to move into the division lead by a half-game. The Twins got a solo homer and a run-scoring triple from Jim Thome, but single runs in the seventh and eighth kept the Tigers in front.
