Twins rout Rockies 9-3
DENVER (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Correia tossed six effective innings and the Minnesota Twins routed the Colorado Rockies, 9-3, in the middle test of a three-game set.
Correia (5-11) allowed a run on seven hits and a walk for the Twins, who have won four of their past five games on the heels of a 1-5 stretch. Eduardo Escobar smacked a solo homer among his two hits and scored a pair of runs, while Oswaldo Arcia had a pair of hits and scored twice in the triumph.
The Twins jumped out to a 4-0 lead after plating two runs in the first, one in the third and another in the fourth.
Charlie Blackmon went 5-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, while Tyler Matzek (1-4) surrendered four runs on seven hits and a walk over six frames for Colorado, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
