Police say Greene had been dead for some time. There was no attempt to revive her.

The friend -- also a UW-RF student -- who found Greene in her bed called 911 right away and reached a Pierce County Sheriff's dispatcher.

River Falls Police Sgt. Jon Aubart said there were no signs of trauma or injury to Greene's body. No weapon was found, and foul play isn't suspected.

Pierce County Medical Examiner Sue Dzubay has ordered an autopsy. One is being performed by the Ramsey County, Minn., medical examiner.

Aubart said Greene had been on prescription medications because of injuries from a bad car accident. Aubart said a toxicology report will later reveal if a drug overdose caused Greene's death.

At this point, the cause of death is unknown. Aubart also said he can't say if Greene's death was self-inflicted.

Greene was last seen the night before her death. She was among friends on campus and watching movies.

Reportedly no one noticed anything unusual about Green's behavior. The movie viewing went on until the early morning hours of Thursday, April 7.

River Falls Police Investigator John Wilson is overseeing the circumstances of Greene's death along with Dzubay.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home in Eau Claire

UW-RF Residence Life and Counseling Services was offering assistance on campus to those who needed it, including a meeting with residents at Prucha Hall Thursday night.
