UPDATE: Hortonville man identified in rollover crash in Dunn County
A 67-year-old Hortonville man died Wednesday morning as a result of a one-car rollover in Dunn County.
Gary J. Fritz was driving westbound on State Highway 29 and exited onto the 52 interchange that merges with Interstate 94 West, the Wisconsin State Patrol reports. He failed to negotiate a curve, lost control of the car, rolled across the westbound off-ramp, and came to rest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Debra K. Fritz, 66, Hortonville, was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire with non-life threatening injuries. The accident happened before 7 a.m.
Poor visibility and driving too fast for conditions may have contributed to the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
Assisting agencies included Dunn County Sheriff’s Department, Elk Mound Fire Department, Colfax Ambulance and Dunn County Medical Examiner.
