UPDATE: Missing man's name released in apparent drowning
BAY CITY - A search continues today for a 38-year-old man missing in Lake Pepin on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
Pierce County authorities say Troy Goehrs fell from a boat last Saturday near Bay City. Wife Brenda jumped in the water to try-and-rescue him. But after Troy went underwater, Brenda swam to shore and got help.
Pierce County Lieutenant Mike Waltz said Tuesday morning the search for Goehrs is still ongoing. Officers are using boats and sonar equipment to check the area along with boats and all-terrain vehicles to check the shoreline and aircraft to attempt to locate Goehrs.
Waltz said agencies involved in the search include St. Croix County, Goodhue, Dakota and Washington (MN) Counties, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Minnesota State Patrol.
