UPDATE: Two injured in Trimbelle accident Sunday morning

TRIMBELLE – Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident reported at 3:48 a.m. Sunday, July 14.

The crash took place near the intersection of County Road K and 810th Street in the town of Trimbelle.

A 2003 Cadillac driven by Brandon Walter, 20, Ellsworth, with passenger Andrew Szatkowski, 21, of Red Wing, Minn., reportedly failed to stop at the intersection as it was traveling south on 810th Street. The vehicle entered the south ditch where it struck a tree stump in a yard and went airborne and then hit a tree.

Walter was taken from the scene by North Memorial Air Care to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. A Regions Hospital reported his condition as fair as of 9:15 Monday morning.

Szatkowski was transported to Fairview Hospital in Red Wing with undetermined injures.

The accident is still under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. Also at the scene were Ellsworth police and Ellsworth Fire and Ellsworth Ambulance.
