Village board may suspend Eastender license
A special meeting of the Ellsworth Village Board will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Village Hall concerning the Class B retail license of the Eastender Bar in East Ellsworth.
At issue is the status of the seller's permit to the bar, owned by Dick Riske. Such permits are issued by the state and according to village clerk Peggy Nelson, the village received a letter from the state back on May 24 saying that the bar did not have a valid seller's permit.
If the Eastender's license is revoked, Riske can reapply for a new license for the June 7 regular board meeting where all such licenses will be up for renewal.
Riske was unavailable for comment Tuesday.
