The teams for the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) all-star games have been announced and a player from Pierce County will take part in the Division 3 boys' game.

Spring Valley senior Mitch Webster will play on the Division 3 North team.

The all-star games will take place in Madison on June 21 at the University of Wisconsin Fieldhouse in Madison. The Division 3 game will be played at 2:15 p.m.

Webster was an All Dunn-St. Croix Conference player who averaged 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game and he helped the Cardinals win their first Dunn-St. Croix Conference title since 2001.

Also on the North squad are Keegan Kincaid, Crandon; Mike Griffin, Iola-Scandinavia; Mark Schrimpf, Manitowoc Roncalli; Cody Lassila, Manitowoc Roncalli; Mike Schaaf, Chetek; Cody Loughrin, Weyauwega-Fremont; Zach Alix, Weyauwega-Fremont; Kieran Weed, Laconia; Mitchell Schneider, St. Mary's Springs. Alternates include Jeff and Jared Fern of St. Croix Central and Jordan Mortenson, Iola-Scandinavia.

The head coach is Curt Schmidt of Stratford. His assistants are Russ Wieler of Owen-Withee and Sam Bertsch, Iola-Scandinavia.

The WBCA's girls All-Star games will take place that same day at Madison Area Technical College's Redsten Gymnasium.

Prescott High School Girls Basketball Head Coach Tim Cerni is coaching the Division 3 squad along with his assistant Mike Sobolewski and St. Croix Falls' head coach Angela Maternowsky. The members of the team are Cassie Bandow, Stevens Point Pacelli; Holly Berkovitz, Kewaunee; Malorie Cheline, Mondovi; Kelsi Knutson, Colfax; Holly Mertens, Stanley Boyd; Laura Olson, Osseo-Fairchild; Kelsie Seibel, Bloomer; Morgan Stueber, Park Falls; Cody VanderHeuval, Cadott; Kari Wotachek, Kewaunee.

This event has helped raise over $1.4 million for the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund.
