What's better than giving once? Giving twice!

Lots of blood has come off the shelves of area hospitals so far this winter season and many more units will be needed before the season is over.

The Ellsworth food shelves have also become depleted and many more non-perishable items are needed.

So on January 13, from noon until 6 p.m., two organizations—the American Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Pierce County Food Pantry--will collect blood donations as well as food items. This will happen at Zion Covenant Church, 210 N. Beulah St., Ellsworth.

Those who can't give a blood donation are welcome to drop by with one or more food items and sit down for a cup of coffee or pop, and sample a cookie or bar or two. The fellowship is always uplifting and donors will help two organizations of great value to the Ellsworth community.

For those wishing to give blood, drop in or--better yet--make an appointment with Pam by calling 715-273-0310. She will set the donor up with the best time to give to avoid a wait in lines.
