Wind's aftermath

Heavy winds during a rainstorm late Thursday afternoon caused damage in some parts of Pierce County. A metal pole shed building at the Kevin Sears property along 300th Avenue in rural Bay City was blown down. Pierce County Emergency Management Director Gary Brown said Friday several trees were uprooted on 350th Avenue nearby. Brown was also aware of some trees down over roads on Sand Mine Hill and outside of Spring Valley. The storm hit shortly after 4 p.m. and, while Ellsworth was on the edge of it, it seemed like a much stronger cell passed over the southern part of the county, he said.
