Wine and Wishes supports school this Saturday
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

The eighth annual Wine and Wishes fundraiser for St. Francis School will be held this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the St. Francis Parish Hall in Ellsworth.

The money raised will help the school with rising textbook costs. Last year, with support from donors, $27,000 was raised; this year’s goal is $30,000.

Organizers are working to make this a community event. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy an “adult’s night out.” The evening will feature wine tasting, food and many delectable desserts, beverages, entertainment, and a live and silent auction.

For the fourth year in a row, it will also feature beer tasting from New Glarus Brewery.

“Doo Da Day” will be back to entertain from 7 to 9 p.m. At that same time, a silent auction will occur and the live auction conducted by Hines Auction Service will begin at 9 p.m.

Some of this year’s generous donations include: Six Twins tickets donated by Coordinated Business Systems, along with the opportunity to go onto the field for batting practice and autographs, a concrete bistro table donated by Rockworks Landscaping, a Terry Redlin print from Jack and Shirley Hines, a four-day, three-night stay at Christmas Mountain in Wisconsin Dells from Jerry and Mary Pieper, Gourmet Dinner for Six at the home of Ray and Mary Augustine, a hand-crafted wooden pedal fire engine made by Dave Esterby and even a homemade dinner of Indian fare hosted by St. Francis Pastor Fr. Nathan.

These are just a few! There are many, many other items donated by local businesses and friends of St. Francis.

Bo-Jo’s Creations is again donating the use of their beautiful decorations for the evening.

$500 Merlot sponsors are: Coordinated Business Systems, Joanne Hines Insurance and Hines Auction Service.

$250 Chardonnay Sponsors are: Steve and Mary Brand, Brenner Overhead Doors, Clyde’s Corner, Fairmount Minerals, and Chuck and Henri Jansa.

Tickets are $30 per person, including the wine and beer tasting, beverages and cuisine. The tickets can be purchased at St. Francis School and Quinn Motors of Ellsworth.

The school is a non-profit organization striving to create a strong child-centered, safe, learning environment which prepares young people for a successful future built upon strong academic instruction and Catholic Christian virtues.
