WISCONSIN NEWS ROUND-UP: State flags at half-staff in honor of Mandela
MADISON - Governor Scott Walker has ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Nelson Mandela. The order is from now until sunset on Monday.
Governor Walker called Mandela and inspiring man who “stood as a distinct symbol of hope in the anti-apartheid movement”. The former iconic South African president died on Thursday at the age of 95._____________ The National Weather Service in Sullivan says a snow storm is expected to hit the southern Wisconsin on Monday, causing reduced visibility on roadways and posing hazardous road conditions for commuters. Around two to four inches of snow is expected to fall for most of the area. Meteorologists are warning drivers to take plenty of extra time getting to work or school on Monday morning. NWS says the snow storm will also bring with it gusts of west-northwest winds and blowing, drifting snow. Snow is expected to start falling on Sunday afternoon._____________ Two Sheboygan off-duty police officers are in some hot water, after being arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The Sheboygan Police Department says the two officers were involved in a rear-ender at a traffic light. A blood alcohol test showed both officers were well over the legal limit, testing at point-ten percent and point-23 percent. No one was hurt in the crash. The department says they will conduct an internal investigation.
