MADISON - Hopes of a BCS bowl bid and sending the seniors off with a win were spoiled, as Penn State upset the University of Wisconsin football team at Camp Randall yesterday afternoon 31-24.

Freshman quarterback Christian Hackenberg lit up the Badger secondary, throwing for 339 yards and four touchdowns. Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave threw three interceptions, while running backs Melvin Gordon and James White were held to under one hundred yards. With the loss, the Badgers now await to see which bowl game they will land in. CBS Sports is projecting a possible matchup with Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando. UW could also play Missouri or South Carolina or Auburn in either the Cap One of Outback Bowl in Tampa.

The streak is over in Milwaukee. O.J Mayo scored 22 points and Brandon Knight another 20 points, in a 92-85 Bucks win over the Boston Celtics last night. The win snaps an 11-game losing skid, dating back to November 6. Meanwhile, the Bucks announced that forward Caron Butler is likely out for about a week due to a knee injury.

Wisconsin used two goalies. Alex Rigsby had 15 saves and Ann-Rene Desbiens had 13 saves. The No. 2 ranked Badgers improved to 12-2-2 overall and 8-2-2 in the WCHA.
