WISCONSIN SPORTS ROUND-UP: Garza helps Brewers top Cubs 5-2
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee pitcher Matt Garza allowed two runs on four hits and seven strikeouts last night, in a 5-2 win over his former team, the Chicago Cubs.
Garza picked up his first win of the season, while helping the Brewers notch another win on a so-far impressive start to the season (17-6). Calos Gomes and Ryan Braun each had three hits, while Lyle Overbay homered in the fourth inning to secure the win.
Green Bay Packers assistant offensive line coach Joel Hilgenberg has stepped down. According to a news release from the Packers, Hilgenberg is resigning to spend more time with his wife and daughter. Hilgenberg joined the Packers in 2011 as a QA assistant, before stepping up into the role as an assistant for offensive lines coach James Campen in 2012.
Matt Kenseth has qualified in the 12th position for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race in Richmond. The Cambridge native is just one point back in the Sprint Cup standings, behind Jeff Gordon, who will start in the 25th spot. The Toyota Owners 400 gets underway tonight.
