Raiders starting quarterback Matt Schaub played into the third quarter and hit 13-of-27 for 110 yards.  Running back DuJuan Harris rushed for 56 yards and added 42 more on two catches.  The Packers were up by three touchdowns in the third quarter and backups and players hopeful of making the team played the rest of the way.  Andrew Quarless and Jordy Nelson caught Rodgers’ scoring passes.  The action stopped for several minutes in the second quarter when Raider linebacker Sio Moore suffered a neck injury.  He was taken to a hospital for observation.

Pittsburgh Pirate third baseman Josh Harrison homered, doubled, singled and drove in five runs in Pittsburgh’s 8-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Friday night.  Harrison’s father was watching from the stands at the Pirates pulled to within five games of the division leaders.  Yovani Gallardo gave up six runs – three earned – in five innings to take the loss.  His teammates had given him a two-run lead in the first, but Pittsburgh pulled in front to stay with a three-run second inning.  All three of Harrison’s hits came with two outs.  Jeff Locke only gave up two hits, but he walked six while picking up his fifth victory.  Andrew McCutcheon hit his 18thhome run.  The Brewers were held to six hits total, but they got a home run from Ryan Braun.  Wily Peralta goes for Milwaukee today at Miller Park, while Edinson Volquez pitches for the Pirates.  Game time is 6:10 p.m.

Published reports indicate the University of Wisconsin football team is about to go with their fifth different starting quarterback in the last five years.  When Bucky tees it up against LSU in Houston a week from tonight, several sources are saying junior Tanner McEvoy will lead the offense.  He appears to have edged returning starter Joel Stave.  Head Coach Gary Andersen has talked about using both quarterbacks in the 2014 season.  McEvoy is bigger and more athletic, but Stave has the experience and is a winner.  Just to complicate things a little more, the coach has also hinted true freshman D.J. Gillins could get some snaps as well.

Kevin Harvick wins his fifth pole of the Sprint Cup Series for the Irwin Tools Night Race at the Bristol Motor Speedway.  He edged Jeff Gordon by less than a tenth of a second.  Gordon was going for his third straight pole.  Cambridge driver Matt Kenseth starts 16th and Eau Claire’s Paul Menard is 17th.  Beloit-born Danica Patrick starts 24th in the 43-car field.  The race starts at 7:30 p.m.

Jerry Kelly of Madison shot a three-under-par 68 Friday at The Barclays, giving him a tie for 59th after two rounds of play.  Kelly is at even par, trailing leaders Cameron Tringale and Adam Scott by eight shots.  The tournament at Paramus, New Jersey, kicks off the four-week Fed-Ex Cup playoff.  Kelly comes in ranked 64th and he needs to finish in the top-100 to continue next week.
