Wisconsin State Business Briefs: Humana Inc. plans to hire 75 more persons for Green Bay office
GREEN BAY - Humana Incorporated plans to hire another 75 customer-care specialists at its office in the Green Bay area.
The same customer support center added 40 people last December. Customer-care specialists handle questions about billing and enrollment in health plans. The new hires should be on the job late next month or early in May. Humana is one of the largest employers in Brown County with more than 31 hundred people working at locations in De Pere and Green Bay.
A vice president of We Energies' parent company was named today as the new chairman for Church Mutual Insurance Company of Merrill. Allen Leverett replaces Gerald Whitburn, who's leaving after 17 years with the firm. Church Mutual provides insurance to churches and religious groups. CEO Mike Ravn called Whitburn a "guiding force in taking Church Mutual to the next level." Whitburn ran the state's labor department under former Governor Tommy Thompson. He's currently on the UW Board of Regents, the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, and the board of River Valley Bank near Wausau. Leverett moved to Wisconsin in 2003, and is the chief generation officer for Wisconsin Energy. He's also on the board of the American Transmission Company and Milwaukee's Discovery World Museum.
