Zenner selected as new Elmwood principal
ELMWOOD - Adam Zenner was hired as the new Elementary, Middle School and Assistant High School Principal of the Elmwood School District in the school board's monthly meeting July 16.
Zenner was selected from a pool of 39 candidates, from which 11 were interviewed. He replaces Shawn Madden who resigned after five years last month to accept the Somerset High School Principal position.
Superintendent Barry Rose said Zenner was the unanimous choice of all seven committee members that did the interviewing process, which included him, teacher Dave Hoffman and five board members.
"He was a real strong candidate," Rose said. "He's had experience at all levels."
Zenner started his teaching career as an Adaptive Physical Ed instructor in Northfield, Minn., in the 2001-2002 school year. He then moved to Cornell, Wis., where he taught Adaptive and Physical Education for three years. He continued at Arcadia where he was PreK-8 principal of Holy Family Catholic School for one year and spent the last school year as the Notre Dame Middle School Principal (grades 6-8) for the Chippewa Falls McDonell Central School District and was slated to be the 7-12 High School Principal for that district this upcoming year before being hired at Elmwood.
Zenner will start at Elmwood July 30, which Rose said was perfect because it will give him a little time to acclimate himself to his new job before teachers come back on August 28 and students for the first day of school September 4.
