Injured driver said to be Ellsworth teen

The 17-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet Corsica was airlifted from the scene of a crash south of Prescott late Saturday night.

Pierce County sheriff's deputy Adam Olson said Dillian Fick of Ellsworth had to be extricated from the car, which had left Hwy. 35 north on a curve and struck a tree about 10:45 p.m.

The boy, who was not identified, was taken by ground ambulance to a hilltop near Hwy. 35 and 469th to meet a medical helicopter. He was subsequently transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undisclosed injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Assisting deputies were the Prescott Fire Department and Ambulance Service, Ellsworth Area Ambulance and North Air Care.
