TOWN OF MARTELL — A poetry reading will be held at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday at the new Martell Town Hall at the intersection of CTH Y and Hwy. 63.
Wanda Brown and friends will conduct the reading, with a musical prelude by nature songwriter Sue West, refreshments including free range chicken soup, homemade bread, lefse, coffee, juice, milk, cookies and crudites.
A free will offering will be taken to benefit the charity of the poet’s choice, and to benefit the restoration of the town hall.
There will also be an opportunity to purchase books and CDs by Brown and Phyllis Goldin, the piano composer who performed at the hall last fall.
Local farmers are welcome to bring “winter farmer’s market” items and business flyers to put out on a sales table as well.
