A Beldenville man is still listed in critical condition after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident last week.

Thomas J. O’Brien, 22, N7703 County Highway J, was traveling northbound on State Highway 65, after 10:30 p.m. July 28, when his pickup truck collided with a southbound truck driven by Scott C. Perez, 46, Lake Elmo, Minn.

Both were airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where first reports said O’Brien was critical while Perez was good. Wednesday, a spokesperson there said O’Brien’s condition hadn’t changed, while Perez was discharged.

The two passengers in Perez’s vehicle, Shannon Perez, 37, and the couple’s three-year-old daughter Jordan were both transported to River Falls Area Hospital by ambulance where they were treated and released.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said the accident occurred south of 690th St. in the town of River Falls. The crash closed STH 65 for several hours while responders from Ellsworth and River Falls ambulance and fire services aided victims and cleared the wreckage.
