A Beldenville man who was involved in a multi-car accident last month has seen his condition improve this week.
Thomas J. O’Brien, 22, N7703 CTH J, was traveling northbound on Hwy. 65, after 10:30 p.m. July 28, when his pickup truck collided with a southbound truck driven by Scott C. Perez, 46, W4257 Hwy. 72, Ellsworth.
Both were airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where initial reports said O’Brien was critical, while Perez was good. O’Brien was listed in critical all the way up through last week, while Perez was discharged soon afterwards.
The two passengers in Perez’s vehicle, Shannon Perez, 37, and the couple’s three-year-old daughter, Jordan, were both transported to River Falls Area Hospital by ambulance, where they were treated and released.
The accident report listed O’Brien was cited for OWI and operating left of center. Court records showed Monday O’Brien has only been charged with left of center. Information from the Pierce County District’s Attorney office indicates the office is waiting on further test results before proceeding on additional charges.
