PLUM CITY — On Friday, Jan. 23, parents, along with their 4-year-olds, are invited to come and explore and experience the 4-year-old program, and tour the elementary facility at Plum City Elementary School.

Children should be accompanied by an adult and may come and go as they are able or stay for the entire morning, from 8:15-11:15 a.m. Each child attending will receive a free activity bag. The bag will include age-appropriate books and activities to help prepare them for the upcoming brief preschool screening in April.

The vast majority of brain development takes place in the earliest years of a child’s life. A child’s first five years lay the foundation for all future social, emotional and cognitive development. Research studies support both the educational and economic value of 4-year-old kindergarten. Giving children the opportunity to attend 4-year-old kindergarten allows educators to close the achievement gap before it begins.

Call the elementary to schedule a child for the upcoming play day at 647-2911.
