Spring Valley’s Sig Dangeur is a member of the St. Croix Valley Fusion prep girls’ co-op hockey team.

Dangeur is a sophomore forward on the unbeaten Fusion squad. So far this season she has eight points with four goals and four assists.

On Saturday against the Menomonie co-op team, Dangeur added another goal and assist to her totals in a 10-0 victory for the Fusion. The victory clinched the Big Rivers Conference title for the second year in a row and improved the Fusion’s record to 18-0-1.

The Fusion is the No. 1 ranked team in the state and has the No. 1 seed in their sectional. That puts them in the semifinals already as they will face the winner of the New Richmond-Burnett County contest on Feb. 24 in Baldwin with a face-off time of 7 p.m. The sectional finals are in Hudson either Feb. 27 or Feb. 28 with the face-off time to be determined.

The St. Croix Valley co-op consists of players from River Falls, St. Croix Central and Baldwin-Woodville high schools. Dangeur is the second Pierce County player outside of River Falls to play for the Fusion. The last was Elmwood’s Megan Murphy three years ago.
