To Greg Helgeson, Wisconsin Department of Transportation:
At last night’s Prescott City Council meeting, the board passed a motion to apply for a National Scenic Byway grant to construct a pedestrian path connecting downtown Prescott to our Great River Road Learning Center.
Plans are to construct a walkway on the Off-River side of Hwy. 35. We instantly applied and have an excellent chance to be selected. Years earlier, our Learning Center was granted by the same source. Freedom Park has evolved into an increasingly popular (and skyrocketing) tourist destination.
Your spring radar study will be extremely timely...and hopefully sanction a Slow-Down of trucks, cars and motorcyclists wearing spandex and speedos, who seemlngly go nowhere fast. Suddenly we’ll have “expanded” pedestrian and bicyclist safety in our radar.
See you in spring.
